STRAWMAN DOWN! Ben Shapiro Ruins Play of ‘The Wizard of Oz’ by Tackling Scarecrow

The New York Times dubbed conservative pundit Ben Shapiro, “The Cool Kid’s Philosopher,” (link) but Ben wasn’t feeling too cool.

During an adorable presentation of the Wizard of Oz at a local grade school, just as the children were singing, “We’re Off to See the Wizard,” Shapiro leapt from the darkness of the audience and tackled the five-year-old playing the character of the strawman, The Scarecrow.

Even worse, Shapiro pummeled the child to the floor, then stood over the wailing boy and flexed. Several adults leapt to the child’s defense, pulling back a kicking and frothing Shapiro, who by then was screaming, “You got owned! You got destroyed!”

At a news conference after the incident, a subdued Shapiro expressed his regret for the assault.
